Expendable Shotblasting Abrasives
Expendable Shotblasting Abrasive Media including J Blast, Abrablast, and Stonegrit are stocked by The Surface Finishing Equipment Group - Hogg Blasting and Finishing Equipment in the Northeast and Abraclean in the Northwest UK.
Expendable abrasives are typically designed for open nozzle blasting using mobile blast pots, where the media is not recovered. After a single or occasionally a second use media breaks down and is then discarded.
We have a wide range of types and sizes to suit your applications.
A summary of the most popular abrasive blasting abrasives is shown below.
The Expendable Abrasive Media shown is available for collection from our Washington or Stockport depots and can be delivered to customers sites or premises.

This abrasive is favoured for its fast cleaning rates and economic price. Ideal for rapid removal of old coatings, rust and mill scale. Its gives a coarse etch on steel and is suitable for most industrial coating applications e.g. steel fabrications such as motor vehicle chassis, ship's hulls, tank internals, pipe joints. Its structure is a synthetic mineral abrasive with a hard dense structure and many faceted angular grains to give a large number of cutting edges. It has a high resistance to shatter for low dust. Several grades and particle sizes are available. |
